Land Ho

(Jacinta Whitcome)
February, 2008
By Jacinta Whitcome
I used to think my individuality
Was determined by a stereo type
And that my whole existence
Was built on pomp and hype

I used to run from room to room
Afraid someone would catch my eye
As if they’d know I was naked
If they’d see inside my mind

CHORUS; But there will be land before you say land ho, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Just like there’s truth before you know, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
What’s inside is your treasure, your keep
Be it wise, alone, or asleep

And I never know what is happening
If even inside my own mind
I keep gripping my chest, as if I can barely breath
I feel just like a ripple in time

CHORUS
SOLO

There is something you should know
Before you go diving
The more you thrash, the harder it is to float
But if someone saves you then how can you ever know

CHORUS
SOLO
